Mapp & Lucia

Today’s book club meeting will be about E.F. Benson’s Mapp & Lucia, a lovely comedy of manners that takes place in between wars England, in a town called Tilling. It is one of those 30’s novels that dissect the bourgeoisie, in an effort to de-mystify it and ridicule it. A lovely book I truly enjoyed, go to the Argentine’s, most precisely here to read the review.

The Kite Runner

After a weekend of cookies (more on those later) and movies and more moving, comes a book review. Today the Book Club is meeting to read "The Kite Runner" . I read this book in less than a week more than a month ago, but since the meeting was today, the review was posted today at the Argetine's, go here for more.

The Brooklyn Follies a Review

Another Book Review at the Argentine's

The Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster

I actually liked it quite a bit, even if it took me only 1 month to read.

The Year of Magical Thinking

I just put down this book, and it is so good that I want to write the review immediately before I forget it. It took me a while to finish it, 2.5 weeks, it is barely 250 pages, but the subject is very hard, but the writing and her approach to it is unbelievable. So go the Argentine’s blog, for the review, and then go to Amazon, or Kramer’s or wherever and buy this book and read it.

The shared Book Reviews

Wow, two posts in one day, I amaze myself, the second post can be found by going to the Argentine's site, see the link on the Dahlings section.

In what I hope will be a new tradition, I will review some books, and posting the reviews on the Argentine's Blog. The rule for me, is not reading his review so that I am nor influenced by what he has to say.
